We looked forward to the free breakfast every morning. There is coffee in the morning, but if you need coffee at other times, bring your own instant. The cups in the room are large, not the small teacups you sometimes find in other hotels. The hotel staff members were very gracious and spoke adequte English. Close to subway, very convenient, especially to and from the airport. At the Gion station, take exit 6 and the hotel is about 40 feet away on the right, very close. Out the front door of the hotel, to the right, is the jr train station, an 8 minute walk away. Tochoji Temple, founded by Kobo Daishi of the Shingon sect, is diagonally across the street. Awesome to walk the trip to hell and emerge into heaven. (The entrance is right on the left side of the largest wooden sitting Buddha as the "trip" goes under the Buddha.) No one speaks English, so look carefully for the entrance. After a series of murals depicting your descent into hell, walk through an absolutely dark tunnel, holding onto the rail on the left until you emerge to the light. (You can actually touch the right hand wall too, so not so scary.) Wow. The hotel's "double" room was small, but there was room to walk around the bed, which was a treat after experiencing more expensive but tinier hotel rooms; no real hanging space for clothes in the tiny closet. Suitcases fit under the bed, so no problem with where to put them, but had to pull them out everyday for fresh change of clothes. Laundry was 100 yen for wash, 100 yen for 30 minutes to dry. We always used 200 yen for the dryer. Brought our own anti-allergy detergent. Very clean hotel. We saw a worker take off his shoes and with a cloth and brush, clean the elevator from wall to wall, scrubbing and wiping the floor clean. Very impressive. Explored the streets and found very good restaurants. There is a restaurant around the corner to the left of the hotel and down a few buildings where we ordered our meals in a machine before we sat.
Inadequate closet to hang clothes. The bathroom is a large step up. So those with bad knees need to step up and down carefully. No hand soap, but use the shower gel from the shower. The bathroom is so tiny, the hotel is very innovative in plumbing. The sink and shower share the pipes. Hard to describe but very inventive.

I recently stayed at a hotel in Fukuoka and was pleasantly surprised by the value for money. The rooms were clean and although small, had all the basic amenities I needed for a comfortable stay. The location of the hotel was great, as it was just a short stroll away from the Gion subway station and also conveniently close to the JR Hakata station. This made it easy for me to explore the city and even take a direct subway to Fukuoka international airport. The staff were friendly and provided good service, with one staff member even speaking English. Additionally, I appreciated the complimentary breakfast that was included in the room rate. it was a convenient and budget-friendly choice for my stay in Fukuoka.
No significant drawbacks, everything was satisfactory.

Proximity to Hakata which makes it very convenient to visit neighbouring cities; also very easy access from the airport via subway.
Wi-fi connection only available in the hotel lobby; would have been great if access available inside the rooms.

We had a great city break and our hotel was one of the best aspects of our trip. the breakfast offered a good variety and tasted great. the hotel's location was perfect, it was situated in the heart of the city, within walking distance to all major attractions. We also enjoyed the free Wi-Fi, which was fast and reliable.
The room was a bit small, but this is to be expected in a city hotel. the bed was not as soft as we would have liked, but we still managed to get a good night's sleep.
